Effect Of Mulch And Cow Manure On The Growth Of Cayenne Pepper (Capsicum Frutescens L.)

Abstract
This study entitled The effect of mulch and cow manure on the growth of cayenne pepper (Capsicum Frutescens L.). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of several types of mulch and the best dose of cow manure for the cultivation of cayenne pepper plants. This study was conducted in Wren, Tamantirto, Kasihan District, Bantul regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. This study uses the method of complete randomized Design Group (RALK), consisting of two factors with 3 replications. The first factor is the installation of mulch, that is, without mulch, black plastic mulch, and white plastic mulch. The second factor is the dose of cow manure, which is without cow manure, a dose of 40 tons/ha or equivalent to 12 kg/bed, and a dose of 50 tons/ha or equivalent to 15 kg / bed. Observation variables observed are plant height, stem diameter, and leaf area. Observation Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) at the level of 5%. If there is a real difference in the treatment tested, then proceed with the DMRT test (Duncans New Multiple Range Test). To find out the real effect between treatments. The results showed that the best treatment for the installation of plastic mulch for the growth of cayenne pepper plants is black plastic mulch, and for the application of organic fertilizer cow dung in the control treatment gives the best results on the variable observation of plant height. Treatment of installation of black plastic mulch and cow dung there is an interaction with the observation of the diameter of the trunk
